Comp Sci High is the first charter, CTE, computer science high school in the state of New York. Their mission is to ensure every student graduates with a college acceptance letter, high-tech skills, real work experience, and a plan to turn those opportunities into a successful career. At Comp Sci High, students build knowledge, skills, and maturity through a demanding curriculum, regular contact with industry professionals, real work experience, and an advisory program that builds confidence and independence.
In my first year working with Comp Sci High, I created over 40 hours' worth of instructional videos for students enrolled in the SAT Math class. I also compiled problem sets and answer keys in a written format to accompany my solution videos.
In my sophomore year, I was enrolled in the class and took the exam for AP Computer Science A. Computer Science has always been a big part of my life, and my experience in FIRST robotics as the lead programmer meant I had already been exposed to Java programming in the past.
Because of this, Comp. Sci High asked me if I was willing to peer-tutor eleventh graders in AP CSA. I happily agreed and took on several students who I have formed close bonds with. This year, I completed around twenty 90-minute tutoring sessions with like-minded peers at Comp Sci High. to get them ready for the big exam in May!

During my spring break, I traveled to New York to accompany four of the brightest AP CSA students from Comp Sci High to a college-only hackathon - HackPrinceton. These four students were specially invited and I served as their project manager, overseeing the project's progress over the 36 straight hours of hacking. Not only did they improve their speed-coding abilities but they also won the best beginner hack award.Â
